Punjab CM, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring giving false hopes: PRTC workers

In a strong protest against the Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Transport Minister Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, the bus stands across the state were closed for two hours on Friday by the Punjab Roadways Punbus/PRTC Contract Workers Union. One of the protesters said that the Punjab government has not been fulfilling the demands of contractual employees for a long time. Also Read | Air pollution case: Why are schools open in Delhi? asks Supreme Court Earlier, former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had promised to confirm the contractual employees, then Transport Minister Amarinder Singh Raja Warring gave the assurance on October 6, 2021, and then the current CM Charanjit Singh Channi assured that these employees will be confirmed in 20 days, he said. However, there was no outcome in the cabinet meeting held on December 1 which made it clear to the employees that the government was pursuing a policy of evasion and was not serious about the protesting employees. He further said that the union has demanded that 10,000 government buses should be provided but no bus has been provided by the Government from the government exchequer. -PTC News
