Chandigarh: In a big relief to the Punjab government, the Punjab and Haryana high court stayed the decision of the single bench regarding the doorstep ration delivery scheme of the Aam Aadmi Party. The application filed by Markfed against the order of the single bench was heard on Thursday. The house-to-house flour distribution case will now go to the double bench for review. The decision which was pronounced by the single bench will not be applicable now. Along with this, there is a possibility that Ghar-Ghar Atta Yojana may start from October. Also Read | After Governor’s ‘no’, Punjab Govt calls another special session on Sept 27 Notably, all the cases related to tender cases go to the double bench, but due to technical reasons, the matter went to the single bench, and because of this, the order of the single bench of the high court will not be applicable. Orders were issued by a single bench of the High Court not to grant any rights to any third party. The Ghar-Ghar Atta Yojana case will now be heard by the double bench. This scheme was given the green flag by the Punjab Cabinet on May 3. Markfed was made the nodal agency for this scheme and the work of tendering for home delivery etc. was going on. Doorstep ration delivery scheme was challenged in the High Court by the NFSA Depot Holder Welfare Association. Justice Vikas Suri, while hearing the petition, had restrained the granting of any right to the third party in the Ghar-Ghar Atta Yojana.
