SAD-BSP will honour martyrs of Kisan Andolan once it forms govt in 2022: Sukhbir Singh Badal
Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Friday assured the people of Punjab that if SAD would form the government after Assembly Elections 2022 it would honour the martyrs of farmers' protest.
Releasing a video on his birthday, Sukhbir Singh Badal wrote: "Today, I assure Punjabis that Immediately after forming the govt in 2022, SAD-BSP will honour the martyrs of Kisan Andolan with one govt job per family, free education to their children and grandchildren till post-graduation and health insurance cover to the entire family."

Thousands of farmers have been protesting against the farm laws for over seven months while more than 500 farmers died during the protest.

Shiromani Akali Dal has been supporting farmers since day 1 of the historic farmers' protest. Even as Harsimrat Kaur Badal resigned from the Union Cabinet in support of farmers.
In the meanwhile, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar appealed to protesting farmer unions to end their protest and to held discussions. Government is ready for discussions while APMC will be strengthened, he said.
Adding, he said that efforts would be made to provide more resources to the APMCs. "Rs 1 lakh crores allocated under Atmanirbhar Bharat to Farmers Infrastructure Fund can be used by APMCs," he added.
Even as he said that APMCs will not be done away with. "After the implementation of farm laws, APMCs will receive crores of rupees from the Centre's Infrastructure fund, which will strengthen them and will be useful for more farmers," Tomar said.
To this, Rakesh Tikait said that the farm laws will not be curbed, yet they were asking us to end the protest. "Farmers are not protesting for 8 months so that they could follow govt's orders," he said, adding that "If they want to talk, they can talk, but no conditions should be imposed."
