The Unnao gang rape survivor who was set ablaze on Thursday, passed away at 11:40 pm on Friday following cardiac arrest in Delhi. While addressing mediapersons outside the hospital, her brother had said, "When I hugged my sister yesterday, she said to me: 'Save me, I don't want to die. But make sure the attackers are not spared. They must hang.' I assured my sister that no one will be spared." He added that "I have nothing really to say. The deceased was thrashed with sticks, stabbed, set ablaze, and ran screaming for help. While she was rescued, she had suffered 90% burn injuries. She was shifted from Unnao to Kanpur to Lucknow. Finally, she was airlifted to Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief, Swati Maliwal spoke up on the death of Unnao rape victim last night. She said that "I appeal to the Uttar Pradesh government and central government that the rapists in this case (Unnao rape case) should be hanged within a month." -PTC News
