PTC Web Desk: KL Rahul's Test comeback has been nothing short of spectacular as he showcased his prowess with a magnificent century against South Africa at Centurion. After a struggle with form, KL Rahul's aggressive innings of 101 off 137 balls, adorned with 14 fours and four sixes, marked his resurgence in the challenging Centurion conditions.

Entering the crease with India at 92/4, KL Rahul displayed resilience, forming crucial partnerships with the lower middle-order and lower-order batsmen. This remarkable century by KL Rahul not only marked his return, but also etched his name in history as the first visiting batter to achieve multiple hundreds at Centurion, his first being a 123-run knock in 2021.

Among Asian batters in South Africa, KL Rahul now joins an elite club with Pakistan's Azhar Mahmood, Sri Lanka's Thilan Samaraweera, and India's Virat Kohli, boasting at least two centuries. Although Sachin Tendulkar leads with five centuries, Rahul's performance underlines his growing impact.

His excellence in SENA conditions (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia) shines through, with five out of his eight Test centuries crafted in these challenging settings. Additionally, Rahul's special bond with Boxing Day Tests continues, with this remarkable century marking his third such occasion, further solidifying his place in Indian cricket history.

In the current match, India struggled early on against the South African pacers, but found stability through partnerships led by Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer. Shardul Thakur's brief offensive and Rahul's resilient 70* steered India to a respectable 208/8 on day one. Rahul's subsequent century on day two propelled India to a total of 245 all out.
