While everyone is worried about the community spread of coronavirus in India, four parents have moved the Supreme Court against the Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE) decision to hold examinations of Class 12 for remaining subjects between July 1 and 15. The petitioners have been identified as Col Amit Bathla, Charu Singh, Poonam Singla and Sunitha. Their children are Class 12 students. Likewise, they have challenged the CBSE notification dated May 18 that announced a fresh schedule for the examinations of remaining papers. Meanwhile, the petitioners have urged the top court to direct CBSE to declare Class 12 results 2020 on the basis of examination already taken and to calculate it on an average basis with the internal assessment marks of the remaining subject. Similarly, they highlighted the rise in coronavirus cases and said that the pandemic would be at its peak in India. It would not be safe for students to assemble at examination centres in large numbers, they said. Online classes for children from LKG to class 5 banned

The Karnataka government on Wednesday decided to put a ban on online classes for students from LKG till class 5, the state Education Minister S Suresh Kumar said. He informed that for classes 6 to 10, a committee has been formed to submit the recommendations and a report which will be submitted within 10 days. -PTC News
