Swami Vivekanand School principal shot at by student in Yamunanagar
A student of Swami Vivekanand School, Thaper Colony, in Yamunanagar on Saturday opened fire on school principal.
Upset after being scolded, a Class 12th student of commerce attacked principal Ritu Chabra with his father’s licensed revolver, police said.
Chabra suffered three bullet wounds and died in a hospital.
The student was rusticated from school for poor attendance and for picking up fights, an official said.
The official said the student came to school with the weapon around noon and said he wanted to meet the principal. Then he headed straight to Chabra’s room and opened fire.
The principal was admitted to a hospital and was said to be in critical condition.
