Tamil Nadu road accident: 19 dead as Kerala-bound bus rams into truck in Tirupur
Tamil Nadu road accident: Over 19 people were killed after a collision between a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation bus and a truck near Avinashi town of Tirupur dist. As per report, the bus was travelling from Karnataka's Bengaluru to Kerala's Ernakulam. The bodies were immediately taken to Tirupur government hospital.
Deputy Tehsildar of Avinashi was quoted by ANI as saying: "19 people including 14 men and 5 women, died in the collision between a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation bus and a truck near Avinashi town of Tirupur district."
Meanwhile, Chief Minister's Office (CMO) Kerala stated that CM Pinarayi Vijayan has ordered District Collector of Palakkad to provide emergency medical care to the victims. The identification of the deceased is yet to be ascertained. CMO also added that "All possible relief measures will be taken in cooperation with the government of Tamil Nadu and the District Collector of Tirupur."
Kerala Transport Minister AK Saseendran said that the senior officials from Kerala State Road Transport Corporation have rushed to the site. Several people were injured. KSRTC Managing Director will conduct an inquiry and submit report."
Furthermore, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan stated that "Chief Secretary is coordinating all the proceedings. Also, Transport Minister AK Saseendran and Agriculture Minister VS Sunilkumar will be visiting Tirupur. We have spoken to Tamil Nadu government."

"All the necessary arrangements have been made for providing help and also to identify bodies of all the deceased. If needed, a medical team will go from here," he added.
