Two children drown in Bhakra canal near Punjab's Rajpura
Chandigarh, May 10: Two children, identified as Pardeep Billu (14) and Lakhbir Singh (16), drowned in the Bhakra canal near Punjab's Rajpura late Monday evening. The bodies were fished out on Tuesday.

According to SHO, Ganda Kheri police station, Kirpal Singh, some children came to take a bath in Bhakra Canal Monday evening. When Pardeep Billu took a dip into the Bhakra canal, he started drowning. Lakhbir Singh, too, jumped into the canal to rescue Billu. However, he too drowned. Their bodies were fished out by divers on Tuesday. Further investigations are on.
