Uttar Pradesh: Station officer suspended in Kanpur shootout case

The Uttar Pradesh police suspended station officer (SO) of Chaubeypur police station in Kanpur in the wake of allegations of his involvement in the shooting of policemen by criminals during a raid. In an incident, as many as eight policemen were killed in a shooting by criminals when they moved to arrest Vikas Dubey. IG (Kanpur Range) Mohit Agarwal said that in the wake of allegations levelled against the SO, he has been suspended. As per the officials, if anyone's involvement is found in this incident, they will be sacked from the department and also sent to jail.
