Farmers Protest: As Samyukta Kisan Morcha announced that farmers will hold a march to Parliament in May, farmer leader Gurnam Singh Charuni on Thursday sought solidarity from people ahead of the announced program. Gurnam Singh Charuni, in a video message, asked people to come in support of the call for a farmers' march to Parliament in May. He said that the date will be announced soon. He asked people to come in their own vehicles to the borders before the date that would be announced soon. Then, the farmers will start paidal yatra and gherao the Parliament. Furthermore, he said that "we will not stop even if the police resorted to lathi-charge or arrest them." The Samyukta Kisan Morcha has announced March that will take place in the first fortnight of May. Other than farmers, laborers, women, Dalit-Adivasi-Bahujans, unemployed youth, and every section of the society has been asked to participate in this march. Farmers Protest: As Samyukta Kisan Morcha announced farmers' march to Parliament in May, Gurnam Singh Charuni sought solidarity from people. Also, it has made it clear that the program would be completely peaceful. People will come in their vehicles from their villages to the borders of Delhi, SKM said, adding that a Paidal March will be done thereafter from the borders of Delhi. Farmers have been protesting against the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; the Farmers Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
