Woman burnt alive for resisting rape in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun
A 27-year-old woman was burnt alive by her brother-in-law at a village in Uttar Pradesh after she resisted his attempt to rape her, the police said on Thursday. The incident took place on Wednesday night when Neelam, a widow, was alone at her house in Labhari. The victim died on the spot. The police said the woman’s father had lodged a complaint and a search had been launched to arrest the accused, Jitendra. He had been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, they said. -PTC News
