PTC News Desk: In a startling confession, Jennifer Gomez, a former 'cat burglar' from the United States, recently disclosed her notorious career on the podcast 'Locked In with Ian Bick.' Gomez recounted her tactics and strategies, shedding light on her lucrative criminal enterprise, which amassed over $7 million (Rs 58,22,71,550) from more than 200 burglaries.

Known for her ability to enter and exit premises unnoticed, Gomez targeted affluent neighbourhoods in Florida during her criminal spree. Reflecting on her modus operandi, she confessed to seeking out million-dollar homes, particularly those situated in cul-de-sacs or backing onto streets to facilitate her escape.

Drawing from her upbringing in a family of physicians, Gomez possessed insider knowledge of wealthy lifestyles, allowing her to meticulously plan her heists. She noted her awareness of privacy measures such as high fences, which provided cover as she infiltrated properties.

Gomez's preparation extended beyond reconnaissance, as she tailored her appearance, observed pet behaviour, decoded security systems, and wielded specialised tools to gain unauthorised access to homes.

Having served time in prison from 2011 to 2020 for burglary, Gomez has since transitioned into a TikTok influencer. Leveraging her expertise, she now advises homeowners on safeguarding their properties from potential burglaries. Encouraging vigilance, Gomez emphasises the importance of concealing indicators of wealth and lifestyle from prying eyes, urging individuals to refrain from inadvertently advertising their possessions and routines.

Through her newfound role as a crime prevention advocate, Gomez aims to educate the public on home security, utilising her past experiences to empower others to protect their residences effectively.
