Vijay Rupani sworn in as Gujarat’s new CM. Vijay Rupani sworn in for the second time as the chief minister of Gujarat on Tuesday, as the Bharatiya Janata Party forms it sixth government in Gujarat. Mr Rupani, a confidante of BJP national chief Amit Shah, will hold the post for a second term as Gujarat’s new CM. Mr Nitin Patel also sworn in as his deputy. The BJP retained power in Gujarat for the sixth consecutive term by winning the recently-held Assembly polls with a lower margin of victory than last time. PM Modi greets former Gujarat CMs Keshubhai Patel and Shankersinh Vaghela at swearing-in ceremony of  Gujarat’s new CM. Other members of Rupani’s council of ministers take oath. PM Narendra Modi arrived in Gandhinagar to attend Rupani’s swearing-in ceremony. Welcomed by Gujarat governor OP Kohli, CM Rupani, deputy CM Nitin Patel and BJP president Amit Shah. Feeling blessed after offering prayers to Panchdev Mahadev Temple in Gandhinagar.
