Holi 2023: Chandigarh Police to act strict against lawbreakers

Chandigarh, March 6: Keeping in view of the Holi Festival, Chandigarh Police has made special arrangements for Wednesday, to avoid any untoward incidents and to maintain law and order in the city.

On Wednesday, approximately 850 police personnel including 8 GOs, 25 SHOs/Inspectors, 800 NGOs/ORs will be deployed from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM to keep watch on miscreants etc. The special 64 floating Nakas from Police Stations will be laid at different places from 9 AM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 10 PM. 

Outer border Nakas will be effective from 9 AM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 10 PM.

The PCR vehicles patrolling will be intensified around the Girls Hostels, Panjab University, Geri Route with special cheetah motor cycles remaining active in the Colony areas. A limited vehicle zone will be at Geri Route from 11/12 T-point to small chowk Sector 9/10, Chandigarh.

Adequate arrangements are also being made at Sukhna Lake, Elante Mall, Markets Sector 15, 11,17, 22, 20, Hostels and other institutions.
