Bikram Singh Majithia's anticipatory bail hearing today
Drugs case: The Mohali Court will hear on Friday the anticipatory bail application filed by Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia, who has been booked for his alleged involvement in the drugs case.
On Thursday, Additional Sessions Judge Sandeep Singla asked the Punjab Police to submit the record pertaining to the FIR filed against Bikram Singh Majithia.

Bikram Singh Majithia is being represented by advocates DS Sobti and HS Dhanoa. In the anticipatory bail, the Shiromani Akali Dal leader alleged that the Congress-led Punjab Government had left no stone unturned to misuse its powers and position for wreaking vengeance upon its political opponents.

Requesting anticipatory bail, he alleged that Congress had implicated him in the drugs case to tarnish his image before Punjab Assembly elections 2022.
“To target the applicant/petitioner is one of the major election planks of the current government. To fulfill its election stunt, the Congress government of Punjab has been day and night browbeating officers to register false cases against the senior leadership of the Shiromani Akali Dal, including the applicant/petitioner. In the run-up to the Assembly elections, witch-hunting of the political opponents has gone to its peak. The government has changed three DGPs over the span of three months… Officers have also been induced with promotions and plum position,” says the bail application.
On December 20, the Punjab Police had registered an FIR against Bikram Singh Majithia under various sections of the NDPS Act.
