Chandigarh: Coronavirus positive patient jumps off 5th-floor of Sector 32 government hospital
In a major incident, a 62-year-old coronavirus positive patient allegedly committed suicide at Sector 32 government hospital on Sunday. According to the information, the man jumped off the fifth-floor of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, Chandigarh.
The COVID-19 patient was taken to the minor operation theatre with several fractures and an injury on his head. However, he expired in the operation theatre.
The patient was referred to GMCH on July 31 from Sood Bhawan after he tested positive for coronavirus on July 29. Meanwhile, the hospital said in a statement that patient Chunni Lal, 62, (COVID) positive patient jumped from the gallery of area 55.
The hospital then shifted the patient for surgery to the minor operation theatre with multiple fractures and head injury, where he expired.

Reportedly, an employee, Rajmal, opened the gallery for cleaning and ran towards him to stop him, but he was too late. The incident took place at around 7:15 am when the patient Chunni Lal jumped.
