Himachal Pradesh: Covid restrictions extended, schools to remain closed till Sept 21
The Himachal Pradesh government on Tuesday extended Covid-19 restrictions in the state and hence the schools in the state will continue to remain closed till September. Amid the coronavirus situation in Himachal Pradesh, the state government decided to further extend the Covid-19 restrictions. The order stated that “teaching and non-teaching staff would continue to attend the school." For residential schools, guidelines developed by the Department of Education will be followed in an order to contain the spread of Covid-19. The State Government had, earlier, decided to open under-graduate classes of degree colleges with effect from September 1. Due to the rise in political activities and the huge movement of commuters and tourists on weekends to hills stations, the threat of 3rd wave of Covid-19 loomed large in the state. Himachal Pradesh recorded 202 new cases of Covid-19 and three deaths on Monday. -PTC News
