Kolkata, February 16: With the IPL mega auction 2022 done and dusted, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Wednesday confirmed the appointment of Shreyas Iyer as its captain for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Stylish India batter Shreyas Iyer, who accepted the KKR captaincy, said "I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to lead such a prestigious franchise as KKR. The IPL as a tournament brings together the top players from various countries and cultures, and I am excited to lead this incredible group of players."  "I'd like to thank KKR's owners, management, and support staff for trusting me to head this team, and I am confident that we can find the right synergies to achieve the team's goals," Iyer added. KKR appoints Shreyas Iyer as captain In the IPL mega auction 2022, KKR had acquired Shreyas Iyer for a whopping Rs 15.25 crore. In earlier IPL season, the right-handed batsman had led Delhi Capitals.
