Kerala blast: The tragic incident of multiple blasts that rocked a Christian religious gathering near Kochi, Kerala, one week ago has now claimed the lives of four individuals. The latest victim, 61-year-old Moly Joy from Kalamassery, succumbed to her injuries at a private hospital early on Monday, as confirmed by a hospital spokesperson.

She had sustained severe burns, covering over 70 per cent of her body, during the explosion that occurred during the religious gathering on October 29. She had been on ventilator support and had initially received treatment at another private hospital before being transferred to Ernakulam Medical Center.

Tragically, a 12-year-old girl named Libina from Malayattoor in Ernakulam district had also lost her life due to injuries sustained during the blasts on October 30 at Kalamassery Government Medical College Hospital. On the day of the incident, two women who were part of the religious gathering also lost their lives.

The multiple blasts, which took place at the international convention center in Kalamassery, near the port city of Kochi, left over 50 people injured, some of them seriously. The gathering had congregated for the final day of a three-day long prayer meeting organised by the followers of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Shortly after the incident, a man who claimed to be an estranged member of Jehovah's Witnesses surrendered to the police in Thrissur district, confessing to carrying out the multiple blasts. The police subsequently recorded his arrest.
