PM Modi flags off Delhi-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express; check timings, ticket price

PTC Web Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the Delhi (Anand Vihar)-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express on Thursday. This is the first Vande Bharat to be introduced in Uttarakhand.

"Uttarakhand is getting its first Vande Bharat Express today )May 25) from Dehradun to Delhi. This train will reduce the travelling time of the people," said PM Narendra Modi at the flagging off event of Vande Bharat Express between Dehradun and Delhi.


According to the Railways' website, the regular run of the Delhi-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express would begin from May 29. It would cover a distance of 302 km in 4 hours and 45 minutes. Except Wednesday, the Vande Bharat Express would run all days of the week.


The fare

An AC chair car would cost Rs 1,065 and Rs 1,890 for an executive chair car. The train would comprise eight coaches.

Timing and stoppages 

Train No. 22457 to Dehradun would depart from Anand Vihar railway station at 17:50 and will reach Dehradun at 22:35. The train will halt at Meerut City, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Roorkee and Haridwar.

Departure from Dehradun: 7 am

Arrival at Haridwar Junction:  8:04 am

Arrival at Roorkee: 8:49 am

Arrival at Saharanpur: 9:27 am

Arrival at Muzaffarnagar: 10:07 am

Arrival at Meerut City: 10:37 am

Arrival at Anand Vihar Terminal: 11:45 am

This is the first Vande Bharat train which has been introduced in Uttarakhand. The train has been built indigenously and is equipped with advanced safety features including the Kavach technology. It has world-class amenities and heralds a new era of comfortable travel experience, especially for the tourists travelling to the state.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw were present at Dehradun railway station.
