Two youths killed while filming social media reel on railway track in Haryana’s Jhajjar

PTC Web Desk: Two young men lost their lives in a tragic incident in Haryana’s Jhajjar district after being hit by a speeding train while recording a social media reel on a railway track. The accident took place near the Chhotu Ram Nagar crossing in Bahadurgarh on Thursday morning.

According to officials, the incident came to light when a ragpicker rushed to the nearby railway station to inform authorities. The Government Railway Police (GRP) reached the spot and, after completing the required formalities, sent the bodies to the civil hospital for post-mortem examination. The police identified one victim using an Aadhaar card found in his pocket, while the other remains unidentified. Efforts are underway to contact the families of both deceased.

Investigators said the two men arrived at the tracks around 11 am to shoot a reel for social media. A ragpicker present in the area warned them about the danger and advised them to step away from the tracks.

ASI Naresh Hooda of the GRP said the accident occurred around 11.30 am. The youths continued filming despite the warning. They reportedly moved aside to avoid one train approaching from one direction but failed to notice another train coming from Delhi. Before they could react, both were struck and killed instantly. The ragpicker, who witnessed the accident, immediately alerted the station master.

One of the deceased has been identified as Shivam, a native of Tikamgarh district in Chhattisgarh. He worked at a footwear manufacturing unit in Bahadurgarh. The second victim, aged between 19 and 22, is yet to be identified.
