Who is Aditya Srivastava, UPSC Civil Services Topper 2023?

Aditya Srivastava from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the topper of the prestigious UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023.

Aditya Srivastava's academic background is distinguished. He completed his schooling at CMS Lucknow's Aliganj branch, excelling in his Class 12 exams with a score of 95%. His academic prowess continued at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur), where he pursued a dual B.Tech and M.Tech degree.

After his time at IIT, Srivastava worked for 15 months at Goldman Sachs. However, he soon realised that a career in finance was not his ultimate calling. Instead, he felt drawn to serving society at the grassroots level. In a YouTube mock interview, Srivastava expressed a desire to "uplift the system" and create positive change in the Civil Services. The opportunity to innovate within a structured framework also appealed to him.

Srivastava's achievement is even more notable given his previous attempt at the Civil Services Exam in 2022, where he secured a rank of 236 and opted for the Indian Police Service (IPS). He is currently undergoing training at the National Police Academy in Hyderabad.
