Punjab Guv sends forensic report on Kataruchak’s ‘sexual misconduct' video
Kataruchak ‘sexual misconduct' case: Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Saturday sent a forensic report on a video, allegedly showing sexual misconduct by Food and Civil Supplies Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak, to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
The video was not morphed, the forensic report alleged. The forensic report and complaint from Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira were sent to the chief minister for further action.
After Khaira complained to the governor, the Chandigarh DGP was directed to get the video examined by forensic experts.
Earlier, the National Commission for Scheduled Castes had issued a notice to the chief secretary and the police chief to get the matter related to Kataruchak’s video investigated.
The Scheduled Castes Commission also urged the government to provide security to Kataruchak’s alleged victim, who accused the minister of forcing him into a relationship.
Commission chairperson Vijay Sampla warned the officers in a statement that if an action-taken report wasn't received within the stipulated time, the commission might exercise its powers of a civil court and summon them to New Delhi.
