Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday met the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in Parliament, as a courtesy call and discussing the Sutlej Yamuna Link Canal issue. This is an official meet over the SYL Link Canal following the Supreme Court’s order to discuss the Punjab, Haryana and the Centre government to hold a joint meeting and discuss the matter. The meeting was conducted in the Parliament on Monday. Also, it is expected that the Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh will meet the resource minister later on Monday.

Captain Amarinder Singh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the Lok Sabha Elections result 2019, re-electing PM Modi again, with the majority. The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed Punjab, Haryana and the Central government to conduct the meeting over the construction of Sutlej Yamuna Link Canal (SYL Canal) issue.
SYL Canal Link is a proposed 214-km long canal in India which will connect Sutlej and Yamuna rivers.
