PTC Web Desk: Ahead of the opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season, the captains of all teams gathered at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad for a special photoshoot with the IPL 2023 trophy. However, Mumbai Indians' skipper Rohit Sharma was conspicuous by his absence.

On the other hand, Bhuvneshwar Kumar represented Sunrisers Hyderabad in the photoshoot with the IPL 2023 trophy instead of Aiden Markram, who will join on April 3. Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis was found without team jersey.



Chennai Super Kings to face Gujarat Titians in opener  

Gujarat Titans will take on four-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) opener in Ahmedabad on Friday. Notably, after a gap of four years, the cricketing extravaganza returns to familiar home-and-away format. At least 12 cities will be hosting a total of 70 league phase matches.

Star-studded opening ceremony

As per reports, actress Rashmika Mandanna has been confirmed as a performer for the star-studded opening ceremony on Friday. She will be joining fellow actress Tamannah Bhatia and star singer Arijit Singh as the performers for the mega event at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
