Dushyant Dave Resignation: The President of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), Dushyant Dave, has resigned from his designation on Thursday stating that he had no right to continue as the leader of the Bar Association.
Dushyant Dave wrote a letter stating that it may not be possible to hold virtual elections as per the schedule “due to reservations held by some of lawyers”.
“Following recent events, I feel that I have forfeited my right to continue at your leader Leader and so I hereby tender my Resignation from the post of the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) with immediate effect,” he wrote.
“We sincerely decided to hold virtual election to elect a new body. Now, I find it may not be possible to hold them as per the schedule declared by the Election Committee due to reservations held by some of you,” Dushyant Dave wrote in his resignation.
“I understand their position and have no quarrel with it but to me any further continuation as the President in these circumstances will be morally wrong,” said Dave.
He further thanked each member of the SCBA for the help and cooperation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Senior Advocate Chander Uday Singh has also tendered his resignation as Member of the Executive (Senior), SCBA.
Dave is currently representing a few farmer unions before the Supreme Court in the case of constitutional challenge to the farm laws 2020.
