Five soldiers were killed and a young man injured in a terrorist attack in the Poonch district of Rajouri sector in Jammu and Kashmir.

Punjab: Heartrending scenes as mortal remains of four jawans consigned to flames

Poonch Terrorist Attack: Heartrending scenes were witnessed as the mortal remains of martyr Jawan Sevak Singh, Jawan Harkrishan Singh, Kulwant Singh and  Mandeep Singh were consigned to the flames at their respective villages in Punjab district on Saturday. 

Five soldiers were killed and a young man injured in a terrorist attack in the Poonch district of Rajouri sector in Jammu and Kashmir.  The attack took place when unidentified terrorists opened fire on an army truck in the Bhimber Gali area at around 3 pm. The truck caught fire, and the injured soldier was rushed to a military hospital in Rajouri. The army is carrying out an operation to search for the terrorists.


Martyr Jawan Sevak Singh was cremated with official honors

The body of Martyr Jawan Sevak Singh was brought to his home village of Bagha, near Bathinda Talwandi Sabo, on Thursday. There was a large gathering of people from the village, who paid their last respects to the brave soldier. The atmosphere was full of emotion as people embraced each other and wept for the loss of their beloved.

The funeral was conducted with full military honours. An army contingent was present to pay their respects, and the body was draped in the national flag. People from all walks of life were present, including the chief minister of Punjab and the local MLA.

Body of martyr Jawan Harkrishan Singh reached Jaddi village

The body of Harkrishan Singh, who was martyred during an attack, has arrived in his hometown of Talwandi Bharath. He will be cremated with full military honors. The tragic death of Singh has brought mourning and sorrow to the entire village. His friends, family, and fellow villagers have gathered to pay their respects to the fallen hero. 

The Indian Army has expressed its condolences to the family and praised Singh's courage and bravery. They have also expressed their gratitude for his service and sacrifice. The state government has announced a state funeral for Singh, where the whole village will gather to honor him.

Mourning the loss of Shaheed Kulwant Singh

The body of Shaheed Kulwant Singh, who was martyred in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir, was brought to his native village of Chhana in Ferozepur district of Punjab. Hundreds of people gathered to pay tribute to Kulwant Singh. The atmosphere was full of grief. 

Kulwant Singh's son, a two-month-old infant, was put in the lap of his father's body and presented 'fire of sacrifice'. This was a very emotional and touching scene. Everyone present had tears in their eyes. Kulwant Singh's father, brother, and other family members were present. 

After this, the body was taken to the cremation ground where the final rites were performed in the presence of a large crowd. All the people present paid their last respects to Kulwant Singh. After the cremation, the family members performed the last rituals.

Body of martyr Mandeep Singh reached village

The body was taken to the village gurudwara, where the last rites were performed with full respect. Many people, including his family and friends, gathered there to pay homage to Mandeep Singh. People had moist eyes while bidding him the last farewell. 

The martyr's family has requested the government to provide them their due financial help and set up a college in the name of Mandeep Singh. They also want to erect a statue of him in their village in memory of the brave soldier.

The bodies of four of the soldiers - constable Harkrishan Singh, resident of Talwandi Bharath village, tehsil Batala, Gurdaspur district; constable Mandeep Singh, Chankoiyan village, tehsil Payal, Ludhiana; lance naik Kulwant Singh, village Charik, Moga; and constable Sevak Singh, village Bagha, Bathinda - were brought to their villages, where they were cremated with official honours. The fifth soldier, Harkrishan Singh, will be cremated with official honours in his village Talwandi Bharath.

The five soldiers were part of a unit of the Rashtriya Rifles and were deployed for anti-terrorist operations in the area. The fire from the truck was so severe that it could be seen from a distance, leading to the death of the five soldiers. Local people who gathered at the scene also helped the army personnel.
