'Most wanted gangster': FBI announces $50,000 reward for information on Goldy Brar

PTC News Desk: The FBI has announced a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest of Satinderjeet Singh, also known as Goldy Brar. The announcement came just hours after US authorities charged Brar and jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in connection with the 2023 killing of Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, British Columbia.

Goldy Brar is also one of the main accused in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. In India, both the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Punjab Police have declared him among the country's most wanted criminals and have announced separate cash rewards for information about him.

In a post on X, the FBI said Brar is wanted for his alleged role in the Lawrence Bishnoi organised crime group, which is accused of carrying out violent crimes across Southern California, the US and Canada. He has now been added to the FBI's Most Wanted fugitives list.

According to the FBI, a federal arrest warrant was issued against Brar on July 1 by a court in Los Angeles. He faces charges including organised crime conspiracy, extortion conspiracy and drug trafficking conspiracy.

The FBI said Brar has links to Sacramento and Fresno in California, as well as Canada, India and Mexico.

The reward announcement follows Operation Hard Ball, a joint operation by law enforcement agencies in the US, Canada and Europe that resulted in 24 arrests and charges against 37 people linked to three India-based organised crime networks.
