Tragic US road accident claims life of 4-year-old Indian origin girl
PTC News Desk: A tragic road accident in the US state of Oregon claimed the life of a four-year-old Indian-origin girl and left three others severely injured after their vehicle collided with another car. According to Oregon State Police, the collision occurred on March 30 in Clackamas County when the car, driven by 32-year-old Kakkera Geethanjali, failed to stop at a sign, resulting in the collision.
While the identity of the deceased girl has not been disclosed, the injured individuals include Geethanjali, Nareshbabu Kamathman (36), and an eight-year-old boy whose name has also been withheld. The police report indicated that Geethanjali disregarded a stop sign on South Meridian Road, crossing into the path of another vehicle travelling along Oregon 211 highway, which ultimately led to the accident.
Tragically, the young girl succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the accident, while Geethanjali, the driver, was hospitalised in critical condition. The two other passengers suffered serious injuries and were also transported to the hospital for medical attention. The accident caused traffic to slow down on Oregon 211 highway for approximately five hours.

Additionally, the driver and a passenger of the other vehicle involved in the collision sustained minor injuries, as reported by the police. This heartbreaking incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety measures and vigilance while driving, as even a momentary lapse in attention can have devastating consequences.
