Patiala traffic jam claims life of 70-year-old woman; family blames delay in reaching hospital
Doctors informed family that had the patient arrived just 10 minutes earlier, her life could have been saved
PTC Web Desk: A 70-year-old woman lost her life after being caught in a traffic jam on the Badungar road, Patiala. The victim’s family alleged that what should have been a five-minute journey to the hospital took nearly half an hour due to heavy congestion. They claimed doctors later informed them that had the patient arrived just 10 minutes earlier, her life could have been saved.
The family further accused the traffic police and the administration of neglecting the issue, stating that frequent incidents of ambulances and critical patients being stuck in jams have been reported, but no action has been taken. “We even pleaded with folded hands to let us pass, but the situation remained the same,” said a family member. They added that just two days ago, another ambulance had faced a similar delay on the same road.
