Chandigarh, March 7: With the final phase of voting for the Assembly elections 2022 in UP concluding Monday evening, all eyes are set on exit poll results 2022. Five states — Punjab, Goa, Manipur, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh — underwent Assembly elections 2022.
The voting for the seventh and final phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections covering 54 seats, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi's constituency Varanasi, was held on Monday to decide the fate of 613 candidates.
Now, people are eagerly waiting for exit poll results 2022 for Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa, which will be out this evening.
All about exit polls
Exit polls are opinions of the electorate that are taken after voters have cast their votes. The aim is to predict the final result on the basis of the information collected from the voters outside polling booths. Pundits usually ask questions on which political party he or she might have voted and the reason behind it.
It will provide a fair idea of how the high-stakes battles in the five states of UP, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur will turn out on the day of counting — March 10.
Who conduct exit polls?
In India, exit polls are usually organised by private firms and media organisations, including Chanakya. These forms deploy their agents on the day of polling and collect random information from voters. This exercise is also known as random sampling.

But take it with a pinch of salt
Although exit poll figures are collected via random sampling, it shall not be completely accepted or rejected in totality. There may be voters who may not say reveal which party they voted for. So there is always an accepted margin or error.
