Chandigarh: Ahead of Assembly elections 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Punjab is likely to be held on February 12 and 16, the sources said on Thursday. However, the nature of PM Narendra Modi's rally in Punjab will be decided on the basis of the Election Commission’s decision about campaigning post-February 11.

It will be decided only after the Election Commission's meeting on February 11. Recently, Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) chief Captain Amarinder Singh had said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will soon be coming to Punjab to campaign for the PLC-BJP-SAD (Sanyukt) coalition ahead of the Assembly elections 2022. publive-image Captain Amarinder Singh said that the alliance had been crafted in the interest of Punjab and the country. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is contesting from 73 seats while PLC is going to contest on 29 seats and SAD Sanyukt will contest on 15 seats.

Punjab Assembly elections are scheduled to be held on February 20 while the results will be declared on March 10. Earlier, the elections were scheduled to be held on February 14 but it was postponed by the Election Commission in view of the Ravidas Jayanti.

Several political parties appealed to the Election Commission to postpone the elections in the interest of devotees of the Ravidas community.
