Farmers' protest: SC seeks farm unions' response on plea seeking lifting of road blockade
Farmers' protest: The Supreme Court on Thursday asked farmers' unions to file their response on a petition seeking removal of protesting farmers from roads.
The Supreme Court has posted the matter of farmers' protest at Delhi borders for hearing on December 7.

The top court said that "farmers have the right to protest but roads can't be blocked indefinitely."

A total of 12 rounds of meetings took place between farmers' unions and the Union Government of India. However, all of these meetings remained inconclusive.
Farmers have been adamant about their demands that including repealing of three farm laws and a guarantee on MSP. On the other hand, the government is insisting leave the way of protest and talk.
Farmers have been protesting at different sites since November 26 last year against the enacted farm laws: Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; the Farmers Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and farm Services Act 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
