Chandigarh, May 14: Disgruntled Congress leader from Punjab Sunil Jakhar on Saturday quit the party. He made the announcement on Facebook while going LIVE. Former Punjab Congress chief Sunil Jakhar dropped a big bombshell when the party's mega brainstorming conclave - 'Chintan Shivir' - entered the second day in Rajasthan. He said, "Goodbye, goodluck Congress.' Venting out his anger against the Congress, the party he remained associated with  for over 50 years, Sunil Jakhar accused the high command of listening to a particular Punjab leader on the issue of the Punjab Chief Minister's appointment after Captain Amarinder Singh's resignation. The disgruntled leader said he was heartbroken on being “stripped of all party posts” for “not toeing the party line”. Earlier, before going LIVE on Facebook, Sunil Jakhar had removed the Congress from his Twitter bio. He had been served a show-cause notice for his "anti-party" statements. after he did not respond to the notice, the anti-disciplinary committee decided to remove him from all-party positions. He said Congress leaders sitting in Delhi ruined the party in Punjab. Sunil Jakhar also blamed Ambika Soni’s statement on the “repercussions of having a Hindu CM in Punjab” for “the disastrous showing” of the party in the February-March state elections.
