Harmohinder Singh Lucky becomes new Chandigarh Congress president
Chandigarh, June 12: Congress on Sunday appointed Harmohinder Singh Lucky as president of its Chandigarh unit.
The letter issued by All India Congress Committee general secretary KC Venugopal said that the Congress president has named Harmohinder Singh Lucky as chief of the Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee with immediate effect.
Notably, Lucky has been Congress' chief spokesperson and a former councillor of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation.
The letter further appreciated the contributions of outgoing president Subhash Chawla.

For the unversed, Congress's former Chandigarh unit president Subhash Chawla resigned from his post on Saturday. He, however, maintained silence on the reason.
“I have submitted my resignation to the party high command,” Chawla has said without elaborating on the reasons. He further said that he will hold a briefing soon to discuss the rationale for his decision.
