The picturesque Himalayan state, while renowned for its beauty, has recently faced a barrage of calamities stemming from relentless heavy rains, disruptive landslides, and catastrophic cloudbursts that have unfurled across various regions of the state. The consequential impact has been a disheartening trail of destruction and unfortunate loss of lives.
Adding to the grim scenario, a devastating landslide wreaked havoc in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh just today, exacerbating the challenges that the state is grappling with.
Government officials have released concerning statistics, disclosing that a total of 2,237 houses have been rendered completely uninhabitable due to the forces of nature, while a further 9,924 residences have sustained partial damage. Beyond residential spaces, the scale of destruction also encompassed 300 shops and a staggering 4,783 cow sheds.
