Manipur women paraded naked: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed strong condemnation over a horrifying viral video showing two women being paraded naked by an armed mob in Manipur's hilly areas.
Speaking ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, PM Modi expressed his shock and anger, stating that the entire nation is ashamed and humiliated by the incident.
The Prime Minister appealed to all Chief Ministers to ensure stringent law and order measures in their respective states to prevent such incidents from happening again. He emphasized that the perpetrators of this heinous act will not be spared and called for strict actions against them.

"My heart is filled with pain and anger. The incident from Manipur that has come before us is shameful for any civilized society. I urge all the CMs to further strengthen law and order in their states, especially for the security of women, and take the strongest measures," said PM Modi.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also reached out to the Manipur Chief Minister, urging him to take strict action against the culprits and inquire about the incident.
In response to the widespread criticism and outrage, the Manipur Chief Minister announced the first arrest in the case, assuring that stringent action will be taken against all perpetrators, even considering the possibility of capital punishment. He made it clear that such heinous acts have no place in society.
In addition, the government issued an advisory to Twitter and other social media platforms, directing them not to share the viral video of the two Manipuri women being paraded nude. It is essential for social media platforms to adhere to Indian laws during the ongoing investigation.
The incident has sparked widespread national concern, and the authorities are taking swift actions to ensure justice for the victims and prevent such atrocities in the future.
