COVID-19 situation in India: Amid a rise in coronavirus cases in India, the Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan on Friday said that a total of 1,19,13,292 people have completely recovered in the country. "Our recovery rate, which at one point of time, in last 2-3 months had even gone up to 96-97 percent, has now come down to 91.22 percent," Dr. Harsh Vardhan said during the 24th meeting of the High-level Group of Ministers on COVID-19 situation in India. He further said that 149 districts have not seen a case of COVID-19 in the last 7 days, 8 districts have not seen a case in the last 14 days, 3 districts have not seen a case in the last 21 days, 63 districts have not seen a case in the last 28 days. "At the time of our last meeting we had 1,53,847 deaths in the whole country and today we have 1,67,642 deaths," he said. Adding, he said that it was 123 additional deaths at that time and today it was 780 additional deaths every day. Right now 0.46 percent of the active critical patients were on ventilators while 2.31 percent were in ICU and 4.51 percent were on oxygen-supported beds, he informed. The latest figures suggested that 9,43,34,262 doses have been given to people in India. In the last 24 hours, we've given 36,91,511 doses, he said, adding that "we even gave 43 Lakh doses one-day last week, probably the highest given anywhere in the whole world." As far as healthcare workers were concerned, over 89 lakhs have got the first dose and over 54 lakhs have got the second dose.
