'No compensation, no unemployment allowance': Sukhbir Badal questions Punjab govt's Rs 50k crore spending
PTC News Desk: After Punjab's debt rose by about Rs 50,000 crore under the AAP dispensation, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday slammed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Punjab government, asking where was people's money spent.
Sukhbir Badal, taking to X (formerly Twitter, pointed out several promises that were not fulfilled by AAP. The list included crop compensation for farmers, flood compensation, Rs 1000/month to women, revised pension to elderly people, shagun to newlywed girls and unemployment allowance, free cycles to girl students and more.
The list also included the discontinuance of Bhagat Puran Singh Health Insurance scheme and free Tirath Yatra scheme.

The SAD chief further accused the AAP government of spending people's money on self-promotion and paying air travel and hotel bills for AAP national convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
Notably, Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Friday sought details of utilisation of "this huge amount" from the government. Reportedly, Punjab's debt has risen by about Rs 50,000 crore under the AAP dispensation.
