Punjab to witness soaring temperatures in next three days, rain likely on May 23
Punjab Weather Update: After a brief break from the heat, temperatures in Punjab will rise over the next three days. Following that, respite is predicted on May 23. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the Western Disturbance, strong winds and rainfall are likely on May 23 and 24.
According to recent updates, Samrala recorded the highest temperature in the state at 39.1 degrees Celsius. While Amritsar reported 38.5, Ludhiana 37.0, Patiala 38.2 and 37.2 degree Celsius temperature was recorded in Bathinda.
Notably, Punjab and Chandigarh witnessed strong winds and storms on Wednesday night. The wind blowing at a speed of 70 to 75 km uprooted many trees and electric poles. Three people were killed in Punjab's Sangrur, Barnala and Ludhiana.
