Punjab reports 7,396 new Covid-19 cases, 13 deaths in 24 hours
Punjab Covid-19 update: Punjab on Sunday reported 7,396 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the total number of active cases in the poll-bound state to 41,250. Meanwhile, 13 Covid patients succumbed to illness in Punjab on the day.
Furthermore, 26 Covid patients were admitted to ICU and the number of new patients put on ventilator support is 8. Patients who are critical and on ventilator support are 33.
SAS Nagar (1,832) on Sunday reported the highest number of Covid cases in Punjab, followed by Ludhiana (1,144) and Amritsar (963). Jalandhar (570) and Patiala (465) were also among the districts with a high Covid-19 positivity rate, as per the Punjab government's update.

Sangrur (68), Faridkot (63), Moga (62) and Muktsar (46) reported the lowest Covid positivity rate in Punjab on the day.
Meanwhile, 13 Covid fatalities were reported in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Mansa, Pathankot, Patiala, SAS Nagar.
At least 94,335 people were administered the second dose of Covid vaccine in Punjab and 50,703 were given the first shot. Meanwhile, 2,269 precautionary doses were given on the day.
