Rahul Gandhi gets his Tughlaq Lane bungalow back a day after restoration of his MP status
PTC News Desk: A day after the Supreme Court restored the parliamentary membership of Rahul Gandhi, the Congress MP has been re-allotted the 12, Tughlaq Lane bungalow, party sources said on Tuesday.
“Rahul Gandhi has got an official confirmation from the Estate office for the allotment of a bungalow to him as an MP in Delhi,” the sources stated.
“For now, he has been offered 12, Tughlak Lane, his earlier residence, but he is yet to decide on it,” they added.
The Congress leader has eight days to respond to this.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Rahul Gandhi said “Mera ghar poora Hindustan hai," (the whole country is my home), when reporters asked him about the development.
The Lok Sabha House Committee has decided to allot Gandhi the same bungalow he was requested to vacate when he was disqualified as a member of the lower house on March 24 as a result of his conviction and two-year jail term for the 'Modi surname' remarks.
After the Supreme Court delayed his conviction in the defamation case, the Lok Sabha Secretariat restored Gandhi's membership in the lower house on Monday.
