After elephant in Kerala, pregnant cow given explosive-mixed eatables in Himachal Pradesh

Days after a pregnant elephant was fed with explosives-filled pineapple, a similar incident has been reported from Himachal Pradesh where a pregnant cow was injured after it was offered eatables mixed with explosives. The incident has been reported from Dahad village in Bilaspur district in Himachal Pradesh, news agency PTI reported. Meanwhile, a man has been arrested after the owner of the pregnant cow filed a complaint against him. Allegedly, the accused had fed the cow with some eatables mixed with explosives. Meanwhile, the Bilaspur Superintendent of Police (SP) Dewakar Sharma has informed that Nand Lal was arrested on Saturday from his village. He also stated that a team of doctor along with the police reached the village to examine the cow. Reportedly, the mouth and jaw of the cow were heavily injured. She was given prompt medical aid, Sharma added. A case has been registered under the Animal Cruelty Act and investigation is underway. Meanwhile, it has been reported that the cow has given birth to calf who is said to be healthy. The cow is also recovering and will be able to eat soon. The incident was reported days after a pregnant elephant in Kerala died near Velliyar river as she was unable to eat and breathe. She was offered firecrackers-stuffed pineapple that exploded in her mouth. Meanwhile, one accused was arrested in connection with the killing of pregnant elephant. Chief Wildlife Warden Surendra Kumar said that some suspects have been identified and that they are being questioned. -PTC News
