KMSC raised several farmer demands during the 'Rail Roko' protest at Batala railway station. Farmers have made a strong demand for full compensation before their lands are acquired.

Another issue is pollution caused by poultry farmers, as well as payments to sugarcane growers.

According to a KMSC leader, they had earlier staged a protest at Batala railway station on February 22 and 23, but they had lifted it after the government promised that they would accept their demands.

"Unfortunately, the government did not take any concrete steps to meet our demands, nor did it demonstrate any seriousness or keen interest in fulfilling its words," KMSC added.
