Punjab govt to construct heritage street at Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh's native village

Chandigarh, March 22: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced the construction of a heritage street at the native village of Shaheed-e-Aazam Bhagat Singh to showcase the glorious contribution of Punjab and Punjabis in the freedom struggle.

The Chief Minister stated, while leading the Punjab Vidhan Sabha in passing a resolution to carve out Punjab of dreams Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Rajguru, and Shaheed Sukhdev, that this 850-meter-long heritage street will be built from the Museum to the ancestral house of Shaheed Bhagat Singh at Khatkar Kalan.


He stated that this street will highlight the glorious contribution of the state's national freedom struggle, inspiring young people to strive tirelessly for the country.

Bhagwant Mann stated that he has previously requested that the Tourism and Culture department begin work on this project.

According to the Chief Minister, they are even considering making a video portraying the event in which Shaheed Bhagat Singh was sentenced to death.

He categorically stated that March 23rd is not only a day, but rather a symbol of struggle against all kinds of injustice, tyranny, and oppression.

The Chief Minister stated that we must all work hard to realise the dreams of martyrs. He stated that it is essential to restore the state's pristine glory and that every individual should support the state government in this endeavour.

The Chief Minister further stated that Shaheed Bhagat Singh was not only an individual but an institution adding that we must follow his footsteps for the progress of the country.

The Chief Minister stated that Shaheed Bhagat Singh's supreme sacrifice will motivate youth to serve the country.
