WhatsApp's new catalog feature lets users find out who left group chats
Washington (US), August 7: One of the most recently added features to WhatsApp's toolkit that has seen a significant development is group discussions.
Mashable reports that the platform also introduced Communities, a fresh way to meet others who have similar interests to you, and increased the maximum number of participants in group chats from 100 to 512. According to reports, administrators and users wish to maintain track of those who have recently left such large groups of chat. You are not required to rely on assumptions or ask around since WhatsApp is beta-testing a feature.

According to recent reports, the group managers and members of WhatsApp's iPhone beta version 22.16.0.75 can see who left the group or was removed from it within the last 60 days.
On the "Group information" section, a new option called "See Past Participants" is now available somewhere under the list of current participants.
The list of banned users is also searchable separately, which may be useful in lengthy chats when people frequently leave and rejoin. Small businesses that use WhatsApp groups for internal communication or client engagement may find the feature to be useful.
Moreover, the present system for notifying the chat when a participant leaves or gets booted is being abandoned and only admins will be notified of such incidents through in-chat. This can be done to speed up moderation. The names of the group members who have left will thus only be seen under the list of "Past Participants".
