Farmers struggling to get second dose of COVID-19 vaccine: Rakesh Tikait

Farmers protest: While thousands of farmers have been protesting against farm laws, the Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait said that the farmers were struggling to get a second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. He said farmers were at their homes. "Where else will we ask them to go? Is Corona spreading from here?" he asked, adding that "we've been living here for last 5 months, it's our home now." Rakesh Tikait further said that several farmers took the COVID-19 vaccine but were struggling to get the second dose. "We've told officers to set up camp here," he said. He was also asked about videos on social media of their recent Iftar party. Gathering of 50 people permitted by Govt, there were 22-35 people, he said, adding that "Nobody met with each other, no one shook hands." Farmers protest: Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait said that farmers were struggling to get a second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. This came after Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said that the officers of the State Health Department to hold a meeting on Thursday evening with farmers, sitting in protests at Haryana borders, regarding their COVID-19 testings and vaccination.
