Giani Raghbir Singh relieved of duties as Akal Takht Jathedar, Giani Kuldeep Singh appointed interim Jathedar
PTC News Desk: Giani Raghbir Singh has been relieved of duties as Sri Akal Takht Jathedar and Giani Kuldeep Singh has been appointed as interim Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Meanwhile, Giani Raghbir Singh will continue to serve as head Granthi of Sri Harmandir Sahib.
The decision was taken unanimously during the executive meeting of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee.
Giani Kuldeep Singh will also assume the charge of Tkht Sri Kesgarh Sahib's Jathedar as Jathedar Giani Sultan Singh has also been relieved of the duties while Baba Tek Singh Dhanaula has been appointed as Jathedar of takht Sri Damdama Sahib.
The budget session of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee will be held on March 28. No decision regarding Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami's resignation has been taken yet.
The current decision taken by SGPC has drawn a slew of reactions amongst panthic circle. Further updation is awaited as SGPC works around this significant change in leadership.
