Chandigarh, March 14: Just days after being removed as the Chairperson of the State Commission for Women, Manisha Gulati has challenged the Punjab government's order in High Court.

The High Court will now hear Gulati's plea on March 15.

Notably, Punjab Government, last week, issued a notification regarding the withdrawal of the extension of the term of Manisha Gulati as the women's panel chief.

Manisha was appointed chairperson of the women's panel by the previous Congress government in March 2018.

She was even given a one-year extension until September 2020. Manisha, on the other hand, joined the BJP in February 2022, just days before the 16th Punjab Assembly elections.

Gulati was dismissed from her position in January. However, she challenged her premature removal in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which resulted in the state government withdrawing its orders.
